Why don't the prices simply follow the mileage?
Because we price on driving time, not miles. Heathrow and Gatwick are motorway most of the way. Bristol is cross-country on slower roads, and Luton and Stansted sit at the far end of a long M25 run — so they take disproportionately longer than the mileage suggests, and they're priced on the time they actually take.
Journey times are approximate. Every one of these routes joins the M25 at some point, which is where the delays live — Stansted spends the longest on it, so allow the most margin there. Prices shown are for our Standard Saloon (up to 3 passengers, 2 cases) — get an exact price for Executive, estate or minibus vehicles with the instant quote tool above.

We're based just down the road in Eastleigh, not in a call centre in another county — and we know Chandler's Ford, Fair Oak, Hedge End and Bishopstoke better than any national operator ever will.
🌊 Named After a Ford That's Long Gone
The name comes from a 16th-century family called Chaundler, who lived near one of several river fords in the area. The fords themselves vanished generations ago — the name is all that's left of them.
📜 Too New for the Domesday Book
Unlike neighbouring Eastleigh, Otterbourne and Twyford, Chandler's Ford doesn't appear in the 1086 Domesday Book at all. It stayed a scattering of farms and cottages for another 800 years.
🧱 35 Million Bricks for the London Law Courts
One of the largest brickworks in England opened here in the 1870s, between the railway and Castle Lane. Its bricks built the Royal Courts of Justice in London — a long way from a Hampshire field.
🛒 Britain's First Hypermarket
Chandler's Ford was home to the UK's very first hypermarket, on the site now occupied by Asda — a genuine slice of British retail history hiding in plain sight on the Winchester Road.
🚗 The Country's First Ford Dealership
A nice coincidence for a transfer company: Hendy Ford, Britain's first-ever Ford dealership, opened right here in Chandler's Ford and is still trading under the Hendy name today.
🚉 A Station That Came Back From the Dead
Chandler's Ford's railway station closed in 1969 and sat unused for 34 years before reopening in May 2003. It now runs hourly services between Romsey and Salisbury.
